German

German is primarily spoken in Central Europe and is a West Germanic language belonging to the Indo-European language family. The countries of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and South Tyrol in Italy all have it as an official or co-official language. Namibia's national language is it, and it is also a co-official language of Luxembourg and Belgium. Outside of Germany, it is also spoken by German populations in Hungary, Slovakia, the Bas-Rhin region of France, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Upper Silesia (Sopron).
